COMMON QUESTIONS ANSWERED
If you don’t know your SFO from your VFO, or your Wealth Manager from your Broker this is a great place to start.
Are you a Single Family Office (SFO), Multi Family Office (MFO) or Virtual Family Office (VFO)?
We currently operate as a VFO.
Offering a la carte wealth management services allows us to work with multiple families and reduces the client net worth required to make our service viable. Many clients have existing relationships and service providers that they will continue to use. We are able to compliment what clients already have and provide them with what they don’t on a case-by-case basis.
Where is Cromwells registered and physically based?
Cromwells™ is the operating name for the Cromwells Group of companies.
Cromwells Group is comprised of entities registered in different jurisdictions. Some entities are operating businesses, and others may have structural purposes like holding assets or fulfilling the licensing and regulatory requirements for specific group business activities.
Our staff are physically located in Tokyo and London. Our primary concentration of clients is across the US, UK and South East Asia.
Do you only work with clients in certain regions/countries?
In principle we have no restrictions.
Our in-house services will vary by location, but by virtue of being a VFO our default setting is to work across borders. We have stronger ties to some regions than others based on our history of doing business there, but our core services can be applied globally.
How much does it cost to have an initial consultation?
Initial consultations are free. Any follow-up conversations will be billed at a pre-agreed rate.
Do you have a fee schedule for your services?
No. Proposals are tailored per client and may vary at our discretion.
How does the process work?
Your circumstances will be unique to you, and new to us. Our discovery process takes place in stages:
- Initial discussion to understand your basic needs or answer any targeted questions.
- Review your existing situation (assets, liabilities, business, family, structure, service providers).
- Follow-up discussion to clarify details and agree upon the scope of what you need from us.
- We present you with our proposal, outlining services, fees and terms.
- We begin or conclude our engagement with you.
Depending on our mutual availability to discuss your situation, you should expect to spend anywhere from 1 to 4 hours over the course of a typical discovery.
Do you offer one-time consulting, or project-based services?
Yes. Fees vary based on the work and seniority of the staff members engaged.
